Hunter Valley boutique wine tours at their best.  The carefully designed itinerary provides a quality wine and food tasting experience. The focus is ‘the best the Hunter Valley has to offer’. As a part of our wine tour, you will enjoy unique wine tastings in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The tour

Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic journey through the Hunter Valley wine country. Passing famous vineyards and points of interest, our informative commentary covers some fascinating Hunter Valley history, and explains unique wine styles and wine tasting techniques, to ensure you get the most out of your day.

Travel in our modern tour vehicle featuring lap/sash seat belts, dual air conditioning, tinted windows, fridge, head rests and comfortable seating.  Because we carry a maximum of 11 passengers, you’ll get to experience places larger groups don’t.

The itinerary

10:00 am:

Pick up from Pokolbin or the surrounding area.  Our Hunter Valley boutique wine tours pick up within the Lower Hunter region (Pokolbin, Lovedale, Mt View, Rothbury, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Quorrobolong) and also run up from the Central Coast

10:15 am:

Wine tasting at Gundog Estate – Named ‘Best Small Cellar Door’ in the Lower Hunter by Gourmet Traveller twice!. Try their great wines and then wander through the ‘gourmet pantry’.  Excellent examples of Hunter Valley Shiraz and Semillon.

11:00 am:

‘Behind the scenes’ winery tour – Learn the basics of wine production from grape to bottle.  A little wine making knowledge in the morning (while still attentive) can increase your wine appreciation and knowledge.

11:30 am:

Wine tasting at Vinden Estate – A young winemaker balancing tradition and innovation. James Halliday’s ‘2018 Dark Horse’ – winery to watch.  Always something new and exciting around the corner.

12:30 pm:

Lunch at Emerson’s Restaurant – Quality included lunch with a glass of Hunter Valley wine or beer. Breads and dips to begin followed by your choice of 7 main meals options.  

2:00 pm:

Hunter Valley Chocolate Co. – Visit the chocolate shop next to Peterson House and sample fudge, chocolate coffee beans, chilli chocolate and more.  If you have room, purchase some Belgium milk chocolate covered strawberries.

2:30 pm:

Wine tasting at  Ernest Hill – Lovely people and lovely wines that include a very popular sparkling dessert wine.  Often voted the favourite of the day, this boutique producer sits on top of a hill with views over the vineyards and beyond.

3:30 pm:

Hunter Belle – Taste a broad range of locally made, artisan cheese products.  Stunning cheeses made from the milk of their Swiss Brown cows.  It’s next door to the Hunter Olive Co where you’ll have time for a quick taste of olive products.

4:00 pm:

Wine tasting at de Iulius – A broad selection of great wines from this iconic Hunter Valley producer.  A regular trophy winner at the Hunter Valley and Hunter Valley Boutique wine shows.

5:00 pm:

Time for a siesta – return home.
